Who this group is for:
Seeking Safety is a trauma-focused, skills-based, structured group that does not involve telling your trauma story. We focus on the coping in the present with the impact of past trauma and making today and tomorrow better than the past. The handouts for group are provided and the topics include cognitive, behaviors and interpersonal topics such as Healing from Anger, Setting Boundaries in Relationships, Taking Good Care of Yourself, Compassion, Healthy Relationships, Detaching from Emotional Pain (Grounding), etc. Being with people who "get it" helps decrease the sense of being alone. There is hope and we can work together to restore your sense of optimism that healing and recovery are possible.
What to expect:
Seeking Safety focuses on implementing coping skills that create safety for you. In group you’ll have the opportunity to learn about a variety of tools, space to check in about how they are working for you and any barriers that may come up.
