Meet Melissa

Hello! I’m Melissa Lulofs (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon. I offer individual therapy through telehealth for adults ages 21 to 55. I specialize in anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), PTSD, phobias, and body-focused repetitive behaviors.

I also enjoy working with people who have spent a long time putting others first. If you’re ready to understand your needs, set healthier boundaries, and feel more at home with yourself, I’d be glad to explore that with you.

You Might Be a Good Fit If...

You’re looking for a collaborative therapist who can offer both a supportive relationship and focused strategies for change. You may be:

  • Living with anxiety, OCD, PTSD, or phobias.

  • Experiencing body-focused repetitive behaviors.

  • Feeling caught in people-pleasing patterns.

  • Struggling to set boundaries or maintain relationships that feel healthy.

  • Wanting to strengthen your sense of self-worth.

  • Hoping to live in a way that feels more authentic to you.

How I Work

I want therapy to feel safe, respectful, and collaborative. We’ll identify goals together and keep checking whether our work is helping you move toward them. Depending on what you’re experiencing, that may involve understanding patterns, practicing new ways to respond to anxiety, or working through the effects of trauma.

I bring a trauma-informed perspective to our work and value a therapeutic relationship where you can give feedback and take an active role in your care.

My Approach

My work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also have specific training in:

Written Exposure Therapy (WET) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD · Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD · Exposure Therapy for phobias · Habit Reversal Training (HRT) and Comprehensive Behavioral Treatment (ComB) for body-focused repetitive behaviors.
