Meet Ava

Hello! I’m Ava Mitchell (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon. I offer individual therapy through telehealth for adults ages 18 and older. I support people navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and questions about racial or cultural identity.

I grew up in a bicultural home as the child of an immigrant. That experience informs my belief that our environments shape how we see ourselves and what feels possible. I want to understand your story in its full context, including the people, cultures, and systems that have influenced it.

You Might Be a Good Fit If...

You’re looking for a therapist who will take your lived experience seriously and work with you openly. You may be:

  • Experiencing anxiety or depression.

  • Moving through a significant life transition.

  • Exploring how racial or cultural identity shapes your sense of self.

  • Navigating expectations from different parts of your life or community.

  • Feeling uncertain about a new opportunity or unexpected change.

  • Wanting support to feel more grounded as you move forward.

How I Work

I value transparency, humor, and authenticity in therapy. We’ll work as partners to understand what you’re experiencing, including how your surroundings and relationships may affect your well-being and self-perception.

I’ll help you notice thought patterns that may be contributing to distress and explore ways to stay grounded as you navigate change. Our work will make space for your perspective and the meaning you give to your experiences.

My Approach

My approach is collaborative and attentive to the connection between personal well-being and the world around us. I draw on strategies for identifying and addressing thought patterns while considering the social and cultural context of your life.
