Julie Keanaaina, LCSW, MBA
Meet Julie
Hello! I’m Julie Keanaaina (they/she/he), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon and Washington. I work with adults ages 25 and older who are exploring identity, navigating major life changes, or looking for support through difficult experiences.
Identity work is central to my practice. You may be questioning a faith tradition, exploring your gender, making sense of a transition, or noticing how depression, anxiety, trauma, or concerns about your body affect your relationship with yourself. I believe healing happens in relationships and communities, and I bring that perspective into our work together.
You Might Be a Good Fit If...
You’re open to a collaborative process that makes room for reflection, learning, and growth. You may be:
Exploring your identity or moving through a faith transition.
Navigating gender dysphoria or concerns about body image.
Experiencing depression, anxiety, or an eating disorder.
Working through trauma or a major life change.
Looking for a therapist who welcomes feedback and does not expect you to have everything figured out.
Interested in how relationships, community, and broader systems shape your experiences.
How I Work
I see therapy as a relationship in which we can learn together. Our work may involve exploring the experiences and beliefs that have shaped you, noticing patterns in your life and relationships, and finding ways to move toward what matters to you. Depending on your goals, we may draw on reflection, practical skills, learning, and ritual.
I welcome your feedback about what is and isn’t helpful. I also recognize that personal experiences are shaped by social systems, and I strive to practice in ways that challenge sexism, racism, ableism, and other forms of oppression.
My Approach
I draw from several approaches and adapt our work to your needs: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) · Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) · Family Systems Therapy · Structural Family Therapy · Feedback-Informed Treatment · Mindfulness-Based Therapy.
I also have specialized training in heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback, cranial electrotherapy stimulation, and psychedelic harm reduction.
