Matt Lauzon, CADC I, LCSW
Meet Matt
Hi, I’m Matt. I work with children, teens, and adults navigating ADHD, autism and neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use, family and parenting challenges, and major life transitions.
A lot of the people I work with have spent years feeling like they are somehow doing life “wrong.” They may understand what they are supposed to do but struggle to make it happen consistently, feel overwhelmed by expectations that seem easier for everyone else, or have learned to see differences in how their brain works as personal failures.
My goal is to help you understand yourself with greater accuracy and less judgment—and figure out what actually works for you.
You Might Be a Good Fit If...
You may be a good fit for working with me if you:
Have ADHD, autism, or other neurodivergent traits and want therapy that takes those differences seriously.
Feel overwhelmed by school, work, family responsibilities, or everyday expectations.
Struggle with anxiety, depression, mood changes, or emotional regulation.
Are a parent trying to better understand and support a neurodivergent child.
Experience recurring conflict or disconnection within your family.
Are navigating substance use or addictive behaviors.
Are going through a significant life transition and feel unsure about what comes next.
Want therapy that is practical, collaborative, and focused on understanding what works for you.
How I Work
I tend to be practical, collaborative, and focused on understanding the whole person rather than simply treating a list of symptoms.
We’ll look at what is happening in your life, what is getting in the way, and what might make things more manageable. Sometimes that means learning concrete skills or changing systems and expectations around you. Other times it means slowing down and understanding emotions, relationships, experiences, or beliefs that continue to influence how you respond.
When working with children or teens, I also recognize that meaningful change often involves the larger family system. Parents and caregivers may be part of the process as we work to better understand what a child needs and develop strategies that are realistic for the family.
My Approach
My approach is neurodiversity-affirming and grounded in the idea that understanding how your brain works can be far more useful than repeatedly trying to force yourself into strategies that weren't designed for you.
Depending on your needs, our work may incorporate behavioral strategies, emotional regulation skills, family and relational work, mindfulness, and exploration of the experiences that have shaped how you understand yourself.
I also bring experience working with substance use and addictive behaviors. I approach these concerns without judgment and with curiosity about the role a behavior has played in helping someone cope, regulate, connect, escape, or survive.
The goal isn't to make you fit someone else's definition of how you should function. It's to help you better understand yourself, strengthen what is already working, and build strategies that make your life more workable.
