Preparing for Your Session
What to Wear & Bring
Dress comfortably for walking outdoors and for the weather. You may want to bring water, sunscreen, bug spray, a jacket, hat, snacks, or other items that help you feel comfortable outside.
Activity Level
Outdoor therapy does not have to mean a strenuous hike. Options include a flat 0.2-mile loop, a longer loop of about one mile, or simply sitting together on a picnic bench or lawn. Your provider can adapt the session to your comfort and mobility.
Weather
Sessions can take place in typical Oregon weather, including rain. If conditions become unsafe because of excessive heat, smoke, storms, or other severe weather, your provider will contact you about moving the appointment to telehealth or cancelling.
