Hello! My name is Ava Mitchell (she/her), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon. I see individuals (ages 18+) for both in-person and virtual sessions. I firmly believe that our behavioral health and self-perception are profoundly influenced by the world around us. Growing up in a bicultural home as the child of an immigrant, I understand the importance of validating client stories and exploring how our environments shape our worldview and self-image.

Are you a good clinical fit?

My specialization lies in depression and life transitions, particularly those experienced by women, as well as the unique challenges faced by individuals straddling cultural or racial identities. Having returned to clinical practice after a significant break in my career, I recognize that life can present unexpected challenges, and my goal is to help clients stay grounded while navigating new opportunities.

My Approach

My therapeutic approach emphasizes transparency, humor, and authenticity, fostering a collaborative partnership with my clients. I focus on the human aspect within our systems and utilize effective techniques to address thought patterns that impact our behavioral health.

I look forward to working with you!
