Eco-therapy

Eco-therapy is a nature-based modality that promotes physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing by fostering a connection with the natural world.

This approach combines the benefits of talk-therapy with the calming, grounding effects of nature. It offers a unique way to mindfully process emotions, reduce stress, and gain clarity.

Whether you’re seeking healing, personal growth, or simply a new way to engage in therapy, eco-therapy can support you to feel more balanced, present, and at peace.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Nature-based therapy can be a great alternative to traditional therapy, though may not be the best fit for everyone. Safety is our number one goal and priority. If you are looking for more extensive trauma processing/treatment, struggle to maintain safety when activated, or in any other way feel you cannot stay safe while in an outdoor setting, this may not be the modality for you.

However, nature-based therapy is a great fit for those navigating stress, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, or other big life adjustments. If you feel called to reconnect with yourself and the natural world, you’re open to an experiential process, or are simply curious about spending more time outdoors, this may be the space for you.

There is an initial intake that is conducted virtually where a provider will also assess for fit and be able to answer additional questions.

  • Outdoors! Session are located at a local park or nature area that includes access to bathrooms, seating, and hiking/walking. We choose areas that are accommodating to many different abilities and are not restricted to hiking alone. We also choose areas that are in cell range and do not go into the wilderness. Our current location is at a local park in Happy Valley, Oregon. You will be provided a map as well as field guide of the location in your intake paperwork.

  • Most insurances do, though please review with your insurance if you have any questions.

  • Unfortunately, no. While our pets play an integral role in healing and growth, we ask that they remain home for your session. We also request that they are not left in your car during your appointment either, for safety reasons.

  • We love and embrace the rain! Part of eco-therapy is experiencing nature in all forms, and rainy days are great for a little adventure as well as practicing discomfort. However, if the weather is dangerous (excessive heat, smoke, storming, torrential downpour), your provider will notify you and the session will either be moved to telehealth or cancelled.
